Otherside St. Patrick's Day Festival

Otherside Festival decided to put on a special St Patricks Day party in their festival home of Rock Farm in Slane Co. Meath.

I was asked to create the visual identity to be used on a range of assets that would be used on social media as promotion material and also as printed information pieces on event day.

As the event was for the most part a day party we wanted to keep the colours bright without leaning too heavily in to the stereotypical St Patricks Day colour theme. As a large part of the festival takes place in the forest we chose to include leafs and branches to portray the idea of being surrounded by nature at the festival.

Otherside Festival 2023

For this project, I had the opportunity to lead the visual identity and design efforts for Otherside Festival, a multi genre music festival entering its 2nd year.

The festival took places amongst the lush landscapes of Slane, Co. Meath. The Identity for the festival took a lot of Inspiration from the grounds of the festival, in particular the forest setting and the air of mystery that surrounds it.

Rise Nordic Spa

For this project I was asked to create a logo for Rise Nordic Spa.
Rise is a nordic style spa and wellness experience combining sauna and hot tubs set against the backdrop of the Blessington lakeshore.

I was asked to create a simple and clean logo that (1) Resonates with a health-conscious young adult demographic. (2) That could work as statement neon sign made on entrance to the spa.

Doolin Ferry

Doolin Ferry are a family run boat tours business operating out of Doolin Co. Clare. They offer a range of different boat trips around the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher.

For this project I was tasked by Doolin Ferry to simplify and modernise a cluttered 4 fold brochure they had previously into a tri fold model that on one side clearly denotes sailing times and island information while on the other depicts sailing routes and maps of surrounding areas.

In an effort to stand out in a competitive market we chose to include a die cut design on the cover showing a rudder and the company name arced around the top.

Boxed Off Festival 2019

In early 2019 I had the opportunity to create the visual identity for Boxed Off, a 10,000 capacity electronic music festival at Punchestown racecourse.

The design style this year took inspiration from the rhythmic pulse of electronic music’s sound. To translate this idea into the festival's design style, I chose to feature a variety of different wave patterns in the orange Boxed Off brand colours.

I made a deliberate choice to depart from the typical loud and bright design styles commonly associated with electronic music events. Instead, after speaking with the team we agreed to try to connect with a sophisticated audience of musically minded individuals aged 21 to 35 years old.

By choosing a more understated approach, the visual identity of Boxed Off not only stood out amidst the sea of vibrant designs but also struck a chord with our target audience as the festival sold out 1 month in advance.

Juno

For this project I was asked the create logo for Juno, a vibrant new bar nestled in Dublin's Dorsett street. Collaborating closely with the bar owners, we set out to design a logo that would resonate with the growing community of young professionals in the area.

Embracing the essence of Juno's personality, we wanted a design that was both approachable and engaging. To achieve this, I opted for a simple logo type. To infuse the logo with some character I intentionally placed the letters off balance, a move that added a touch playfulness but also kept a sense of sophistication.

The Fourth Corner

Logo Design

When creating the logo for 'The Fourth Corner’ I wanted to create a logo that would resonate with a burgeoning young population around the Dublin 8 area.

After settling on a layout for the logo type I wanted to somehow infuse the feeling of a trendy neighbourhood hotspot, I selected a font with a slight rugged quality. This deliberate choice added a touch of edginess, embodying the bar's modern vibe.

Menu Design

Over the years, I've created a range of menus for the bar, keeping a minimal but practical layout.

Event Artwork

I also had the opportunity to create a wide variety of designs for 'The Fourth Corner's' weekly events, capturing the bar's personality but aiming to appeal to bars target audience.

Yurt City 2021 - Socially Distanced Festival

I was asked by the promotors of Yurt City festival to create the visual identity for a small socially distanced festival to take place in Tullamore in August 2021.

After a long period of lockdown I wanted to bring a bit of colour and energy to the artwork using bold bright colours and a variety of shapes to give some sense of movement.

I was asked to create a lineup graphic for the event for print and social media use as well as graphic for each DJ that is performing.

Summer of Love Festival

in early 2021 I was contacted by the team at Bedlam Events to create an identity for a socially distanced music festival titled ‘Summer Of Love’ The festival was government funded and produced as a stepping stone back to normal events following the Covid 19 pandemic.

When tasked with designing the visual identity the design style seemed to choose itself as it drew its inspiration from the iconic gathering that took place in San Francisco in 1967 which became known as ‘The Summer of Love’.

Drawing from the iconic imagery of the 60’s hippie movement that symbolized peace and love during the original Summer of Love, a bright and bold colour palette and using elements like flowers, love hearts and peace signs across the festival's designs. These elements not only added a touch of nature but also reinforced the festival's core message of unity and harmony.
